We just saw the blockbuster comic summer movie thing. I'll reserve judgment and spoilers for another time, if I should feel so motivated. I do have two observations I can't contain ( non spoiler ).
First, singing and dancing are never, ever, ever a good idea. Sam Raimi, I love you, but you totally need to be slapped; hard.
Second. This is minor at best and sort of relates to the singing, jazz retro vibe. There is this "look" they went for. It really reminded me of this look:

So much so, I went looking for a movie still to mock up. I couldn't find it. I even looked at some trailers. But, as I searched, I found I was not alone in my assessment.

There are better movie stills, but we'd have to wait for the DVD. This is enough, I'm content.

LOL!!!
Yeah, Sam really did let loose with the comedy spots this time around, didn't he?
Have to admit, the cameo of his daughter and Jonah was a hoot, however...(that wasn't a spoiler, was it?)

It looked like all the Raimi regulars got to have some fun. Perhaps the most fun. Bruce Campbell was quite a scene stealer. Poor Bruce, seems like a leading man in all but resume. Yes, they're making a Bubba Ho-Tep (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281686/) II and he's in it (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457295/). At least he has a sense of humor.
