I haven't touched WoW in over a month. I think about it sometimes, but I'm busy. Then I see blog based WoW material...

This one's been making the rounds. Both the image, and the player, apparently.

Nothing I can add, really. Just had to share.

At least it's a chick, IRL?

Ok that's a new low. I'll have to share that with my gaming friends.

Wow. I was seesawing for a moment between "She's in charge of her body/sexuality and can do whatever she wants on that front!" and "That's right up there among the most distasteful things I've ever heard, for many reasons"... but I think I'm swaying more towards the latter.

Unbelievable. I find it almost as unbelievable that she didn't expect the resulting publicity, too.

What really makes this exceptional is the righteous insistence that this is somehow a justifiable, or even clever, act. That she has willfully prostituted herself seems not to bother her in the least, or even occur to her that it might be seen as fundamentally distasteful.

It's like a car wreck; horrific, disturbing, yet morbidly fascinating.

Even worse. She prostituted herself for a virtual item. Wow.

I hadn't considered the type of payment, since it ultimately doesn't change the nature of the act.

It's an interesting point, though. Non monetary payments, beyond basic survival, often include things like drugs that feed addiction. Making yet another parallel between online gaming and crack!

I'm amused again. It's so wrong.
