Yesterday's event, as far as I could tell, was a resounding success. ( Pun, yes, as painful as it could be, no. Be happy. ) We haven't unpacked, cleaned up, or taken a full accounting yet; that will take a few days. The pressure is off though, like a weighty fog blown clear. Though we're still wandering around like zombies, "Is it really all over? Where's the blender?"
In short, everything went amazingly well. We had an army of volunteers who shouldered a burden we feared would fall on just a few. So many volunteers, in fact, that we turned some away. The vibe was professional, efficient, even upbeat; the feeling you aways hope for but dare not count on.
I'd like to thank everyone for their help. I'd list you all, but I fear missing even one and suspect
loosecanon may be have a more official list of our fine crew. Honestly, I was going full tilt for most of it and know I didn't see everyone involved. However, I do believe that my speed at chopping apples has improved.
I got my AoA! I knew several who were going to get theirs, I just didn't know I was on the same list. I guess I can't complain anymore about being an unacknowledged peon anymore. It's Lord peon now. ;) Bruny did the scroll, which is great. It features the one eyed Odin with Hugin and Munin on his shoulders, done on papyrus. Their highnesses signed it in, um, a variant of futhark, um, unknown to me. :p
It's strange to view an event from the kitchen and I didn't get as much face time with folks as I'd like. Still, I did have fun and caught up most of the people I wanted to. I even ran into an old friend who's having a kid soon! (Good for him, I always thought he was gay... )
It's either stop here or ramble on at excruciating length.

h3salthea: The bizarre anime I was noting to you is Elfen Leid. It is a fusion of a few completely disparate genre cliches, notably a harem subplot played along side gory ultra violence visited by amoral uber beings controlled by shadow government organizations. The ultimate moral of the story? It's alright to love homicidal manics as long as they're cute. There's probably as much Freud and pop psychology abuse here as in Evangelion. Enjoy.

You, m'Lord helped make the day as fun as it was...and damned if I'm not gonna have Grimm look for that series now...can't be any odder than Evangelion!

"odder than Evangelion" is probably not possible. It's hard to beat the increasingly incoherent ramblings of someone obviously still several more years of psychotherapy away from a full deck. Still, kawaii demon bondage elves of massive arterial spray of doom is probably a parallel dimension of strangeness.

That's gotta be a metaquote there...

about 10 lbs of chicken ( came in 40 lbs boxes ), and about 6 of meatballs.
The eggs went home with a couple of very large families, I think, and the cabbages... I wish I had taken a cabbage home =/

To be honest, I have nothing locked, so being friended by me isn't that exciting. But, it seems to me like bad form not to reciprocate.

I don't say much in my LJ anyway. I do need an icon that has my picture on it so that people know who I am. (Sarah) Take care and *hugs*
