Sometimes it's hard to tell whether irony is a positive or a negative force in my day. Today, I have not one but two meetings.

First meeting will show a program I was forced to write that allows the company to more easily audit the image content kept by employees. Basically, who has porn on the computer and who doesn't. In testing, I found a lot of birthday parties, weddings, and one wet T-shirt contest. The whole affair made me feel dirty. However, the company feels it should dictate the content of it's network, so there.

Second meeting is titled, dubiously, "Ethics Meeting." In a company where about eighty percent of management shares the same last names, this can only be farce of some sort. Add that to the prior meeting of the latest big brother program and I'm pretty sure this means something, just don't know what.

I think it's time for you to lay a large carpet on the floor of your office with an inverted pentagram. When they demand that you remove it, denounce them for religious prejudice. Change the symbol on the carpet at least twice a week.

Actually, one time I was asked to bring in a doctor's note and basically said, "fuck off, I use traditional home remedies and don't believe in doctors." This led to some minor disciplinary action, but they never bugged me about it again.

I think I already spook the locals, anything overt would be gilding the lily. ;)
