Bumper stickers are often a pleasant amusement on the commute. Some are funny, most reveal something about the driver's belief. The ones that are polar opposite to my beliefs sometime irk me, but that's part of the point. As long as it's not a hate sticker ( Kill all the X ), who cares?
This one was something like "Earth is NOT my mother, HE who created it is my FATHER." For some reason, this hit the irk button. While I'm not a follower of the monotheistic trilogy, I don't have anything against it. Most religious slogans are really just of the "yay us" variety. Yay everyone, just don't step on me, it's all good.
Still, this one seem as much of a screw the world as a yay us. I Googled "Earth is not my mother" and came up with a ton of Christian vitriol, the likes of which is normally reserved for abortion.
Don't quite know what to say about this one. It just bugged me so I shared.
My favorite bumper sticker?
Well, it's situational and ultimately Christian. The Christian part is the nun driving the old beater. Driving nuns immediately demand attention, they don't drive much and when they do God is definitely their co-pilot. This nun mobile sported a single bumper sticker that I can only surmise was placed by a prior owner. It read: "All men are idiots and I married their King."
I laughed so hard I cried. Someone at the convent did a spit take over that one, you just know it.
