An interesting site ( note, the used to be www.sorryeverybody.com, but it's currently a moving target ) for those dismayed that the chosen nitwit was elected. Again!

There really is not much reasoning with the strong feelings on either side. I don't intend to try. I'd hadn't planed to vent my feelings about current state of affairs here, but, well, if not here then where?

As someone who believes strongly in the rights of the individual and the paramount right to privacy, the last four years have been a horror show. The Patriot Act gives me cold sweats every time I think about it. I now fear for Roe vs. Wade.

I'm sure we'll survive the next four years, but I'm feeling kind of embarrassed. The rest of the world could forgive a first term, that's the blush of newness; fool me once, shame on you. But to do it again, that's an intentional act where the blame can't so easily be shifted.

To all my friends who voted for Bush and found their way here, no hard feelings. Really! An open society means the right to choose. It also means I can freely bitch about the choice. At least, I hope that's what it means. ;)

Well...

George Bush may not be the best President, but he's doing a damn good job considering what he was left holding.

Also, it would've helped if the Democrats could come up with a more stable and consistent candidate, with his/her own opinions.

Re: Well...

LOL, Welcome Mike! Somehow I knew you'd be the first to post here. >;)

Honestly, I didn't much care for either of the choices. I saw the options as the Fool and the Tool. I was more afraid of the potential evil of the Fool's manipulators than the Tool's unknowable damage.

Still, I shan't debate it. My interest in politics is ultimately motivated by a naive belief in the potential for a greater good, which is why I try to ignore them. I truly, honestly, believe that one's ability to even be considered by one of the two governing parties for the highest office in the land is proof positive they don't deserve it.
