So, why the stupid title "Meme on the Run?"
The name came to me as I was watching the blinking cursor that was waiting for my response. All the usual tripe danced through my mind; "Thoughts...", "Rambl...", "Primal scream on a Stick", etc. After a bit, I started thinking of every hair style salon name I've ever seen, things like Mane Attraction or Final Cut.
To be fair, most blog names are somewhat cheesy. It is the nature of the medium; self published rambles simply don't get no respect, so why try? Still, when you feel the need to shout your gripe rather than just mumble it, a blog fits the bill nicely.
The the viral nature of blogs evoked the meme meme of it's own accord. When the Eagles' tune "Man on the Run" started play in my head, the title pretty much self germinated. What's better, it didn't sound that bad. ;)
Don't know what a meme is? Am I emitting just a stream on nonsense? (Possible in any case.) No worries, prepare to be infected...

Memes are habits, skills, songs, stories, or any other kind of information that is copied from person to person. Memes, like genes, are replicators. That is, they are information that is copied with variation and selection. Because only some of the variants survive, memes (and hence human cultures) evolve. Memes are copied by imitation, teaching and other methods, and they compete for space in our memories and for the chance to be copied again. Large groups of memes that are copied and passed on together are called co-adapted meme complexes, or memeplexes. - http://www.susanblackmore.co.uk/memetics/about%20memes.htm
