For all you lot who've already seen Serenity (geeks!), I have a question.
My quandary is this, I'll be going to the movie with someone who's seen very little of the show and wont have a chance to watch the DVDs in time. I get the impression that the movie tells pretty much the same story as the series. So, does it matter if they haven't seen much of the series? Is it doing them a favor telling them to watch the series first or might it be more fun, or just as enjoyable, going in cold?
Yes, I know it's a little late to ask this. The question popped into my brain after reading some of Neil Gaiman and Joss Whedon's interview in Time ( http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1109313-1,00.html ). Joss is cool, but Neil is my hero. I really, really wish Mirrormask was getting the same kind of release as Serenity (Sony bastards).
