Well, it's back again, NaNoWriMo. I don't have a lack of ideas. I could claim a lack of time, but that's really a cop out. I've recently been haunting a coder's site, http://www.dreamincode.net/, and find time to post there, as well as other places. I don't really have an excuse, other than a bottomless pit of inertia.
My initial idea last year had me excited but daunted. I want to write it, but it will take time to do it justice. Then, about a month ago, I had a "good idea."
A vision of an alternate reality dystopia arose fully formed. A first person narrative, a relatively simple primary story line that feeds from and takes advantage of the setting without being overwhelmed. Hopefully a satirical edge, ala Harry Harrison or Robert Sheckley.
I intend to give it a go. We'll see how I feel a few days from now.
