I have let a little evil into the house. It is a thing I've tortured and made fun of my entire life. It is... an Apple computer.

To be precise, it's an iMac, with 64MB RAM, a 20GB HD, about 400Hz CPU and it arrived via a $120 donation. Sneaky little fruit; loosecannon calls them iFruits, which I think may catch on. Well, I'd been curious to play with OS X for a while, console and BSD guts? Now that the fruits really do have daemons, they're much more interesting.

Alas, this fruit is at OS 9 and with it's current meager specs it's likely to stay that way. Oh, the humanity.

I've been forever hearing that the fruit is the computer of choice for those that don't want to have to think about computers and just want to get work done. They're so simple, you just plug stuff in and it works.

Really? This is just a small excerpt from how easy an iMac is to set up.

many steps, much rebooting )

I still don't have my iPod recognized and here's the fun part. The fruit recognizes USB flash drives. I don't have the iPod USB connection wire here, it's at work. Why don't I have it here? Because my Windows box finds the iPod just fine via firewire! It's sad, it really is.
