I need sleep! I usually make up for my six hours a work night on weekends and with cat naps. Last couple of weeks have had too many evening activities and me being slightly sick. Camping event is another term for sleep deprived ( and don't pat the thing that's crawling on you.)
With this in mind, I'm leaving for the "Roadshow" in six hours. No, not the antiques one. This one has even more flash and less substance. Yes, it's another Microsoft extravaganza, the SQL Server 2005 Roadshow.
I go to these kind of things every few years, it's like geek county fair. There's a lot of hard sell and cheap computer trade show type stuff. Some information is useful and you do get fed. Usually, there's some CDs with eval copies of promoted software that I've made good use of in the past.
Next week is a full week of Microsoft SQL Server training. The evil empire is closing in. If I find myself in a closed room with flashing desktops and Beethoven's Ninth pounding in the background, I'm outta there.
