In case [livejournal.com profile] loosecanon missed this one. A relative, Alex, is in the news. The little grey bugger pops up now and then, just not usually in LJ.

It there such a thing as Meta MetaData? If so, It's making my head hurt. Brain not liking data structures right now, so...

Today is Wednesday. However, for some reason, the part of my brain in charge of assigning names to things for internal dialogs always replaces Wednesday with Woden's Day. All the days are like that. As a kid I was fascinated that the name origins of the days of the week were so Pagan and that no Christian reformer had ever changed them. Four out of seven days are Norse goods, all found in the AD&D Deities and Demigods handbook. The other three are basically planets, or some kind of deity, depending on your bend.

Anyway, I memorized all the daily origins and they just kind of stuck. For the interested, the list goes something like this:

Saturday = Saturn Day
Sunday = Sun Day ( very dull, in this respect )
Monday = Moon Day
Tuesday = Tiw's Day
Wednesday = Woden's Day
Thursday = Thor's Day
Friday = Freya's Day

I mentally replace Tyr for Tiw, which would be confusing with Thursday if I didn't always think of it as Thor's Day. I wonder if anyone else does this, or if I'm just that odd?

I also refer to things like Target stores as TAR-zjay, but that's out loud. I actually heard a radio person refer to Target the same way and was most surprised. Perhaps if I just start going around saying things like "Thank gods it's Freya's Day!" it might catch on?
