I decided to change the name of the old blog today. I chose "Meme on the Run" because I was fascinated by Dawkins' idea of viral, well, ideas. It seemed an apropos title for the medium. Introduce the meme of meme along with a light hearted Paul McCartney reference. Since that time, however, I've found that in blog space meme has, ironically enough, mutated to take on other meanings. Particularly the sometimes amusing but often inane web surveys. Not wanting to, in any way, be associated with a clipboard toting Jehovah's witness wannabe, it's time for a change.

I recently ruminated on some chaos theory, so that's in my mind. Also, summer in Jersey means the bugs are out. One particular bug, one just as repulsive as the rest of its ilk if you rip the wings off, is the butterfly. However, cloaked in silken sails, the butterfly stirs the heart to happiness and wonder. If a butterfly lands on you to stretch it's wings, it's a magical moment. If most other insects do the same, it's a defcon four situation and probably a career ender for the ill fated bug.

So thinking of butterflies, and their "effect" in chaos, and dreams of Chuang Tsu, I've redubbed the blog thing, "A Flutter of Butterfly Wings." I like the alliteration and the rhythm of it. I did restrain myself, barely, from adding a couple extra beats to make it proper iambic pentameter. And they said that English Lit. degree wasn't good for anything... :p
LOL! Akin to a Butterfly Effect, I suppose.

What do you do if you're an astrologer and a man made rocket suddenly misaligns your stars? You sue! You really can't make this stuff up.
