Goths and Vikings, at the movies

Found a site I hadn't noticed before, Twitch. It's a movie enthusiast site with kind of geeky sensibilities. Without reading all the content, that alone has endeared it to me.

A couple of links caught my eye as being particularly interesting.

An Open Letter To Tim Burton is a sad tale of Goths being turned away from a film screening for being themselves. Gotta love irony.

Outlander: Vikings! Predators! And Weinsteins! Oh My! looks supremely silly but I'll probably watch it. The actor looks like one of the bad guys from "Chronicles of Riddick" Almost imposing, but lacking chin. That had a link to a Beowulf production.

Curiously, I was recently asked to read a screenplay with Vikings in it, to check for historic viability or mood, I'm not sure. Looks like invading Germanic types might be in vogue. I blame those Visa commercials.

Strange update, just as I posted this, the main story I was commenting on shot to the top of their page. Serendipity is cool.
